Young Socceroos representative Jackson Irvine has been loaned out from Scottish giants Celtic to fellow Scottish Premiership side Kilmarnock.

The move will see Irvine get the opportunity to get more first team football at the top level with the 20-year-old hoping to play in his new side-s match against St Mirren this weekend.

Irvine moved to Celtic in 2010 after coming through the Melbourne Victory system and has made one appearance as a halftime substitute in a 2-2 draw against Hibs for the 44 time league champions.

He did however captain the side-s U-19 team to the Youth Cup and league title in the 2011-12 season and will likely get some good game time as he looks to continue to develop his game.

The Young Socceroos player recently featured at the U-20 World Cup and played all three matches for Paul Okon-s side who could not make it past the competition-s group stage.

His last involvement with Celtic was in the side-s friendly match against Liverpool where he played a full game in the centre of the midfield as his side won 1-0.

An Aussie connection remains within Celtic-s squad despite Irvine-s departure with fellow young gun Tom Rogic hoping to play plenty of first team football this season.
