Glen Moss (Newcastle Jets)
Moss came to the rescue for Newcastle in their 1-0 win over Western United on Saturday thanks largely to two important interventions and impressive command of his penalty area in the dying moments.
The Kiwi veteran palmed away Connor Pain's volley and brilliant tipped over Besart Berisha's header as United threw everything at Ernie Merrick's side late on.
“I haven’t seen him be as dominant in his box for quite some time,” lauded FOX Sports pundit Mark Bosnich after the game.

Defenders
Josh Risdon (Western United)
Risdon has been one of United's standout performers early in the season and the right wing-back was again among the best in Green and Black despite a 1-0 loss to the Jets.
Having arrived back in Australia after the Caltex Socceroos' win in Jordan on Friday morning (AEDT), there were no signs of jet-lag for the WA-born flyer.
Although Mark Rudan's side predominantly favoured attacking up the wing of Connor Pain on Saturday, it was still Risdon who topped chances created (four) for the team and he would've equalised with a crashing header midway through the second half but for Video Assistant Referee to spot Besart Berisha offside during the build up.

Lachlan Jackson (Newcastle Jets)
Jackson has been outstanding at the back in Newcastle's last 180 minutes of Hyundai A-League football, which has resulted in a credible point at home to reigning Premiers Perth, and the side's first win of the season.
In the 1-0 triumph over United, the centre back was crucial to Newcastle's shutout, winning eight of his 12 duels and posting a huge 11 clearances. He has had a colossal impact in getting the Jets up and running over the last fortnight.

Nikola Topor-Stanley (Newcastle Jets)
Topor-Stanley and Berisha have had a running battle in the Hyundai A-League over the years. There was no doubting who came out on top in Saturday's latest duel.
The Jets' iron-man silenced the United striker and alongside Jackson, laid the platform for his side's first three points on the campaign.

Michael Maria (Adelaide United)
Adelaide’s Michaël Maria put all his versatility on show against the Mariners with a fantastic display from left-back in Saturday afternoon's 3-1 win.
The Curaçaoan was stationed down the left flank rather than in central midfield by Gertjan Verbeek and excelled, creating Ben Halloran's equaliser with a dart in field, and providing the second with a wicked cross for Nikola Mileusnic to emphatically volley home.
No other player created more chances than Maria's five as Adelaide peppered the Mariners with 26 shots on goal.

Midfielders
Brandon O'Neill (Sydney FC)
No player on the pitch made more duels (eight), tackles (three), interceptions (three), passes (105), touches (127) or chances created (three) than Sydney FC's O'Neill during his side's 2-1 Big Blue win on Sunday.
The stats support our notion that the midfielder was quite comfortably the best on ground, and was denied a deserved third goal in the dying embers by Victory 'keeper Lawrence Thomas.

James Troisi (Adelaide United)
Midfield compatriot Riley McGree has been the star man of Adelaide's season so far and on Saturday the Reds' forward line enjoyed their strongest outing of the campaign.
But it was a showing orchestrated by the subtle midfield mastery of James Troisi, who helped orchestrate the three-goal first-half blitz of Central Coast. Few can control the tempo of a match like the Australian midfielder.

Dimitri Petratos (Newcastle Jets)
Petratos is undeniably the beating heart of Newcastle and was instrumental in guiding the team's win over United on Saturday.
The Australian international created four chances and provided a gorgeous through ball assist for Angus Thurgate's match-winning goal on 36 minutes. He also topped his side's touches (70).
Forwards
Ben Halloran (Adelaide United)
Halloran showcased lightning speed and clinical finishing in a razor-sharp first half display against the Mariners on Saturday.
He scored the Reds’ first of the afternoon after some sharp link-up play with McGree, but it was his speed and awareness to set up Adelaide’s third goal which really caught the eye.
The play started with a long ball from Troisi and Halloran mowed down Jack Clisby and Dylan Fox, showing a clean set of heels to get free and tee up Kristian Opseth for his first Hyundai A-League goal and the Reds’ all-important third of the game.
Jamie Maclaren (Melbourne City)
Maclaren has spent the last two weeks on the sidelines nursing a hamstring concern but picked up right where he left off with a hat-trick against Brisbane Roar in Sunday's 4-3 defeat.
The first saw the Caltex Socceroo striker control Javier Cabrera's pass adeptly before firing home, while the second and third were both clinical headers that underline the serious improvement the former Roar man has made in the aerial department of his game.
Maclaren is simply the most ruthless operator in the Hyundai A-League at the moment.

Roy O'Donovan (Brisbane Roar)
Anything Maclaren could do, O'Donovan could do just as well in Sunday's thriller in Redcliffe.
The Irish striker had endured a frustrating season in front of goal up until his match-winning hat-trick which left City floored.
O'Donovan got his side back into the game after the interval and showed incredible composure to net two penalties in Roar's thrilling comeback win. It could prove to be a critical moment in their season.
