The Blues enter this game in strong form. Emma Hayes’ side have won their last three league games, sit top of the table, and have progressed through to the UEFA Women’s Champions League quarter finals after a 3-1 aggregate win over Atletico Madrid.

Bristol have a mixed bag of results behind them but earned an important 3-2 win over Reading in the FA WSL to lift them out of the relegation spot. This confidence-inducing victory could provide a mental boost for Matt Beard’s team.

The two sides  have already met twice this FA WSL season. Chelsea have been emphatic winners on both occasions. In September 2020 Chelsea had nine different scorers in a 9-0 romping while the damage was less severe in February this year when Bristol lost 5-0.

Westfield Matilda Sam Kerr scored in both league matches against the Robins and the attacking threats of Pernille Harder and Fran Kirby will pose a constant threat for Bristol’s defence.

Meanwhile Chelsea will need to contain an electric Ebony Salmon who is Bristol’s top scorer; she’s found the back of the net four times throughout this Conti Cup campaign.

No longer at the club, Westfield Matilda Chloe Logarzo was crucial for the Robins throughout the competition, scoring consistently before transferring to NWSL outfit Kansas City before the Conti Cup semi finals.

A Bristol victory would be an absolute fairy tale for this team against their highly fancied opponents. For Chelsea, a win would earn them their second Conti Cup after they took home the 2020 edition. The team knows how to win trophies after starting the season by winning the Community Shield.

The match kicks off at 1:30am AEDT on Monday March 15th and is available to watch on the FA Player.
