Brisbane Roar have announced that defender Jack Hingert has suffered a serious knee injury and will undergo surgery this week.
Hingert came off injured in Brisbane’s upset 2-1 Hyundai A-League win over Sydney FC on Friday evening.

And scans have confirmed Hingert is set for a lengthy stint on the sidelines.
“The club can confirm that defender Jack Hingert has ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his right knee,” a Roar statement said.
“After consultation between the player, BRFC medical staff and doctors, it has been decided that Jack will have surgery on his knee this week so that the recovery process can begin.”
Hingert, 28, has been a first-team regular ever since switching from Northern Fury in 2011.
The right-back has captained the Roar and made 156 Hyundai A-League appearances for the club.
The English-born defender, who was a product of Crystal Palace’s youth academy, joins the likes of Stefan Mauk (groin) and Brett Holman (knee) on the club’s injury list.
