Heart beat VPL Knights in preseason

Melbourne Heart's positive pre-season continued with a 2-0 defeat of Victorian Premier League side Melbourne Knights.

Melbourne Heart's positive pre-season continued with a 2-0 defeat of Victorian Premier League side Melbourne Knights on Wednesday night.

Striker Dylan Macallister scored again for his new club, with David Williams scoring a second for Heart late in the second half.

Heart coach John Aloisi said he was content with the display and the way preparations for the new season are shaping up.

"I thought it was a difficult game but it was a good hit out for a lot of our players. It's always nice to win, and to keep a clean sheet which is positive." Aloisi said.

"It was a tough game for us, but we're still working on a lot of things."

Melbourne Heart took after 20 minutes as Macallister scored his seventh goal in a promising pre-season campaign, heading in a fine cross from triallist Jose Guerrero.

Williams wrapped up the result in the final 10 minutes with a well-taken goal from the edge of the area after the Knights gave away possession.
