Former Caltex Socceroos skipper Mile Jedinak has been released by recently promoted Premier League club Aston Villa.
Jedinak, 34, played 18 times for the Birmingham-based outfit in 2018/19, primarily in a central defensive role.
He scored a crucial penalty kick in Villa's Championship Play-off Semi-Final win against West Bromwich Albion on May 15.
And although he did not feature off the bench, the Australian veteran celebrated the club's return to the top flight after three years following Villa's 2-1 win over Derby County in the Wembley Play-off Final last Tuesday.
Jedinak played 80 times for Villa over three seasons after joining from Crystal Palace in August 2016.
He thanked Villa fans for their support on Instagram, stating: "Gratitude and respect for what the Claret and Blue means to those who support this incredible football club.
"Always proud to be associated with Aston Villa."
The former Caltex Socceroo is one of eight players released by Dean Smith's side. The others are Alan Hutton, Tommy Elphick, Albert Adomah, Glenn Whelan, Ritchie De Laet, Mark Bunn and Micah Richards.
