Western Sydney Wanderers devoted fan Bernadette Hobson has been selected as our winner of the Hyundai A-League 2013 Grand Final VIP Guest competition.
Having followed the Wanderers around the country in their maiden season Bernadette will witness this Sunday-s Hyundai A-League Grand Final in VIP style at Allianz Stadium.
Apart from VIP tickets to the grand final Bernadette has also won a tour of the field of play and the amazing memento of a match ball signed by both team captains.
The mum of two had been waiting for a club like the Wanderers to come along and jumped on board on day one, quickly becoming a devoted fan at both home and away games. She and her husband Ron have been to almost every game the Wanderers have played in their debut season.
“The Wanderers needed our support when they started up,” said Bernie, 52. “My husband is English and supports Manchester United, and I used to play football when I was younger so it was a natural thing.
“Since then, we-ve only missed the Adelaide, Perth and New Zealand games. It-s been a fabulous season!
“At Parramatta, we sit in the Western Stand but at away games we sit with the Red and Black Bloc. They are great people and very respectful of older people. It-s noisy but I love it!
“The highlight so far was the trip to Newcastle when we won the Premiership - but today could be even better.
“I-m predicting 2-0 to the Wanderers. My husband says 4-0 - but that-s just greedy… 2-0 will be enough for me!”
