Good news: Melbourne City defender signs new deal

It started with confirmation of Josh Brillante's signing, and now there's even more good news for Melbourne City fans. 

The club have announced that defender Curtis Good has re-signed for another two seasons.

Good, 26, initially re-joined City - the club with whom he made his Hyundai A-League debut in 2011 - on a trial period in 2018/19 and made 18 appearances.

The Melburnian centre back signed with Premier League club Newcastle United in 2012, and had loan spells with Bradford City and Dundee United. 

“Curtis is one of the best defenders in the league and showed immense character to recover form injury and play such a large part for the club last season,” said Melbourne City Director of Football, Michael Petrillo.

“He is an intelligent defender who is good in the air and strong in a contest. He’s also a Melbourne lad and understands the club, its place in the community and has an affinity with the fans.

“We have a number of players on multi-year contracts now which will helps give the squad the stability and continuity needed for success.”

Good said: “I’m really excited to sign on for another two years and kick off our campaign for the 2019/20 season.

“The club and the fans have been incredibly supportive of me during my return to football last season and I’m looking forward to pushing even harder this year as we try and win a first league title."
