Galloway's classy chip voted Hyundai A-League Goal of the Month for October

Hyundai A-League fans have deemed Scott Galloway's splendid chip in Adelaide United's draw with Sydney FC in Round 1 the Goal of the Month for October.

Galloway gave the new season lift-off when, deep into first-half stoppage time, he produced a stroke of genius to break the deadlock.

The full-back took a touch just beyond the box, spotted Andrew Redmayne off his line and dipped a delightful curling finish over the Sky Blues shot-stopper.

Though it wasn't enough to stop the visitors from eventually clawing their way back to a 1-1 draw, the goal did offer a glimpse of the Coopers Stadium celebrations that took hold when the two teams reconvened for the FFA Cup Final later in the month.

Galloway's effort emerged as the fans' clear favourite from a shortlist of six goals scored across the opening two rounds.

His intelligent strike earned 55 per cent of the poll, well clear of the 15 per cent teammate and runner-up Craig Goodwin received for his deft header against Newcastle Jets the following weekend.

The vote for the November Goal of the Month will take be held on a-league.com.au in December.
