Galekovic: Reds will bounce back

Eugene Galekovic insists his Adelaide United teammates will respond positively from their 6-1 loss to Western Sydney Wanderers on Friday.

The Reds are set to face a struggling Brisbane Roar on Wednesday at Hindmarsh Stadium and goalkeeper Galekovic believes his side are confident they can get back to winning ways sooner rather than later.

Speaking after a tough training session on Monday, the 31-year-old told the media contingent that the second-placed side could not wait to face the Roar and take the opportunity to prove that the result against the Wanderers was not a true reflection of their capabilities.

"I think the boys are just wanting to get to this game against Brisbane as soon as possible because obviously we are disappointed with the result," he said.

"It's one of those games where everything went wrong for us and we know we're better than that and we've just got to prove it on Wednesday and improve a lot, to be honest.

"On the training track, like you saw today, it was quite fiery and the boys are willing to throw their bodies around and (we) just can't wait for Wednesday night."

The Socceroo also admitted that his side would be wary of the Roar despite their struggles and their recent coaching re-shuffle.

But Galekovic was also quick to remind Mike Mulvey's side that the Reds will be tough to beat at Hindmarsh where they are yet to lose this season.

"Brisbane is a very good team. They like a lot of possession. They're struggling at the moment in terms of results but football wise they're still a quality team," he said.

"It's a very similar side they've had the last two years and they're very dangerous so we've got to be on our game, we are playing at home but we'll play our style of football and see if they can match us.

"What they do they do well so I don't think they will change much and they'll play their normal style. Maybe (they will be) a little bit defensive because they're playing away from home. I think we are a different team when we come to Hindmarsh.

Galekovic refused to be drawn on whether coach John Kosmina would ring the changes for Wednesday's game, saying he had faith the 56-year-old would do what was best for the team.

"That's for the coach to decide on which players he finds will do the job against Brisbane. If he feels he needs to rest a few players through injury or soreness he might do that but that's not for me to say," he said.

The veteran was more open when quizzed on the fitness of left-back Cassio who was forced off the pitch at training after picking up a knock, brushing off concerns he could be in doubt for the game against the Roar.

"I think he's just got a little knock. He's just making sure he will be right definitely for Wednesday. There's nothing serious. He did train and do a little bit so I think you'll see tomorrow that he'll be fine," Galekovic said.
