Former Wanderers midfielder seals return to Croatia

Former Western Sydney Wanderers midfielder Steven Lustica has secured his future, joining Croatian top flight club NK Inter Zapresic.

Lustica was officially released by the Wanderers over the weekend after spending the last two Hyundai A-League seasons at the club.

The 27-year-old midfielder played 23 games for the Wanderers in that time, with his highlight coming when he scored in the high-profile pre-season friendly against English Premier League side Arsenal.

This will be the second time Lustica has played in Croatia, having spent two years with Hajduk Split between 2011 and 2013.

He then returned to Australia and had stints with Adelaide United and Brisbane Roar before moving to Western Sydney.

NK Inter Zapresic, who had Croatian skipper Luka Modric as a former player, are heading into a fourth straight season in the Prva HNL division after winning promotion as second division champions in 2014/15.
