Former Hyundai A-League midfielders join European clubs

Former Central Coast Mariners midfielder Liam Rose has confirmed his move to Armenia, while an ex-Newcastle Jets attacker has also found a new club in England.

Rose left the Mariners at the end of last season looking for a fresh start in Europe and has signed with first division outfit FC Ararat-Armenia.

The 21-year-old made 71 appearances for the Mariners in four seasons in the Hyundai A-League, but managed just nine games last campaign under Paul Okon.

Rose is now the second Aussie in the Armenian Premier League, joining Anthony Trajkoski, who plays for their city rivals FC Ararat Yerevan.

The Armenian top flight, which consists of nine teams, gets underway this weekend with Rose's FC Ararat Armenia at home to Alashkert, champions for the last three seasons.

Elsewhere, former Jets midfielder Wayne Brown has signed with National League – the fifth tier of football in England – club Sutton United.

Brown, 29, played two seasons with the Hunter club, making 42 appearances and scoring two goals.
