Tickets will be available at the FIFA website with prices starting at $US90 ($A97.66) for first-round clashes while the cheapest tickets for the final begin at $US440 ($A477.43). Tickets for Brazilian seniors, students and members of certain social programs will be able to attain tickets for $US15.
Fans do not have to rush to the FIFA website tonight as they have until October 10 to get their application in for the first phase of ticketing. If demand is as expected, then applicants in the first phase will be entered into a random selection draw that will determine if their application was successful.
FIFA marketing director Thierry Weil believes that Brazil 2014 will be extremely appealing to travelling football fans.
"It's always difficult to predict, but I truly believe that it (demand) will be more toward to what happened in Germany than in South Africa," said Weil.
"We believe there will be a huge demand for this World Cup. But again, we will see after the opening."
After the first phase of ticketing, a second phase will open on November 5 and tickets will be released on a first-come first-served basis.
The Socceroos qualified for their third straight World Cup on June 18 after their 1-0 victory over Iraq in Sydney and remain as only one of five teams with their places confirmed for the 2014 World Cup (the others being hosts Brazil, Japan, Iran and Korea Republic).
The draw for the World Cup will take place on December 6 in Bahia, Brazil, which will then be followed by a third phase of ticketing beginning on December 8.
The Socceroos will take on Brazil in a friendly match on September 7 at the Estádio Nacional Mané Garrincha, Brasília, the same ground where the first semi-final will be held at the World Cup.
