Squad lists for FFA Cup Round of 32 opening night

A host of former Hyundai A-League players – and some former Caltex Socceroos – are set to feature when the FFA Cup 2018 Round of 32 commences across the nation on Wednesday evening.

A total of six matches featuring clubs from seven of Australia’s Member Federations will be staged across Australia, with Victoria playing host to two ties, and the other four fixtures spread evenly between New South Wales, Western Australia, Queensland, and the Australian Capital Territory.

FOX SPORTS’ coverage of Australia’s exciting knockout competition will commence at ABD Stadium in Broadmeadows, Victoria, when Avondale FC hosts former National Soccer League (NSL) side Marconi Stallions FC at 7.30pm (AEST). Wednesday’s feature match can be viewed live on FOX SPORTS 507, with the pre-game coverage commencing at 7.00pm (AEST).

Avondale FC, who currently sit third on the National Premier Leagues (NPL) Victoria standings, may benefit from the experience of former Hyundai A-League players Jonatan Germano, Ramazan Tavsancioglu, and Joey Katebian in their maiden FFA Cup Final Rounds fixture. However, Marconi Stallions FC – who are currently mid-table in NPL NSW – can look to draw on the know-how of players such as former Caltex Socceroo Michael Beauchamp, and 2014 AFC Champions League winner Mateo Poljak.

The second fixture in Victoria on Wednesday night features Port Melbourne Sharks SC up against APIA Leichhardt Tigers FC at JL Murphy Reserve in Port Melbourne. The Sharks are currently fifth in NPL Victoria, while the travelling Tigers will enter the contest on a high after recently claiming the 2018 Waratah Cup title after defeating Hakoah Sydney City East 3-0 in the Final.

Elsewhere in Australia, a classic match-up could take place at Lions Stadium in Richlands, Queensland, when the top two sides in NPL Queensland go head-to-head in the FFA Cup. Lions FC are currently in first place on 51 points in the Queensland competition, with their opponents tomorrow evening, Olympic FC, sitting in second spot just a point adrift. Former Brisbane Roar FC teammates Jean Carlos Solórzano and Shane Stefanutto – another former Caltex Socceroo competing in the FFA Cup 2018 – may meet in this tie.

The final three fixtures to be held on the opening night of the FFA Cup 2018 Round of 32 will be played in Perth, Canberra, and Sydney respectively. In the west, Gwelup Croatia SC will meet Adelaide Comets from South Australia at Dorrien Gardens, while in the nation’s capital Canberra FC will challenge Broadmeadow Magic FC from Northern New South Wales at Deakin Stadium. An all NPL NSW tie will take place at Bonnyrigg Sports Ground in Sydney when Bonnyrigg White Eagles FC meet Hakoah Sydney City East FC.

All matches during the FFA Cup 2018 Final Rounds will be covered LIVE and EXCLUSIVE by FOX SPORTS. Goals and key moments from all games will be shown as they happen during the night’s main broadcast match, while all fixtures will be available via live stream at www.foxsports.com.au.
