Bert van Marwijk put his players through their paces at the Stadium Trudovye Rezervy in Kazan before the team departed base camp to make the short 45-minute trip to Samara to face Denmark.

There is now just one training session remaining – a familiarisation session at Samara Arena on Wednesday before the challenge of the Danes 24 hours later.

Socceroos vice-captain Trent Sainsbury spoke on Monday (Tuesday AEST) about how the focus in video meeting would soon switch to the opposition, ensuring the players are prepared to counter the threats of Christian Eriksen and co., and expose their weaknesses.

“We’re looking forward to the trip and the next game,” said Socceroos goalkeeper Danny Vukovic to socceroos.com.au.

“We have already started preparing for the game against Denmark, the boys are looking good in training and we know we need three points in the next game.”

Vukovic also revealed how he and the team have been receiving plenty of well-wishes from football fans from home over the past few weeks.

“I have been getting a lot of messages over the last few weeks,” Vukovic explained.

“I got a nice message from Budgewoi Primary School, they made a nice poster with a lot of messages of support for me personally, so I sent a video message back to thank them.

“The support that we have all been getting from back home has been unbelievable.

“All the boys have social media and Twitter and Instagram and I know everyone has been receiving messages of support over the last few weeks and especially with our performance against France.

"We know that we have the whole nation behind us going into this next game.”
