David Ratcliffe

A noted defender, David Ratcliffe was born in England in 1957. He played for Bradford City (UK) before migrating to Australia in 1979 to join Brisbane City as a 21 year old. In 1982 Ratcliffe joined St George in Sydney under coach Frank Arok and developed into an outstanding central defender. He made his Australian debut in 1982 against Thailand in Singapore. He went on to play 51 games for Australia, 21 A internationals, including the 1986 World Cup campaign.
