The Newcastle Jets qualified for the 2022 Australia Cup after defeating Perth Glory 3-1 at McDonald Jones Stadium in the Australia Cup playoff tie.

Jordan Elsey got scoring underway when he netted his first goal in Jets colors from a corner which was followed up by a long-distance Daniel Penha strike.

The Glory clawed a goal back through youngster Tyler Vecchio, However Archie Goodwin rounded at the goals for Newcastle scoring in the final minute of the match.
