Atletico are currently second to Barcelona on goal difference, although the Catalan club has played a game more thanks to their midweek 6-2 thrashing of Sevilla.

It means heading into their final two matches of the season, Chidiac’s Atletico will be champions if they can acrue a minimum of four points.

After this weekend's clash with eighth-placed Valencia, Atletico travel to Real Sociedad (sixth) in the final game of the campaign on May 5.

Atletico and Barcelona have been locked in a tight battle for the title for much of the campaign. The two sides drew a world-record crowd for a women's match when they met in March.

The Madrid side is also in the final of the Copa de la Reina (Women’s Spanish Cup), where they will face Real Sociedad on May 11.

Elsewhere in Spain, Westfield Matildas playmaker Aivi Luik’s Levante – who are assured of a third-place finish – host Real Madrid on Saturday night.
