The Liga Iberdrola champions scored all four of their goals in the opening half to secure their maiden continental title, becoming the first Spanish side to win the UWCL in the process.

Their dream start began thanks to an unfortunate own goal off Melanie Leupolz inside the opening minute. Pernille Harder had the chance to equalise for the Blues not long after but her shot was just wide.

Before the 15 minute mark, Barca were 2-0 up with Alexia Putellas converting from the spot. In the 20th minute, Barcelona had goal number three.

A well worked team move that started down the left hand flank with Lieke Martens and ended with Aitana Bonmatí beating her defender and slotting the ball past Ann-Katrin Berger.

The win was sealed nine minutes before half time. Martens again wreaking havoc on the left wing, taking the ball to the byline, before cutting it back for Caroline Graham Hansen to tap in.

The Blues had chances and had a much better second half with Harder the main attacking outlet. Sam Kerr's clever backheel to her was one of Chelsea's best chances but the Dane couldn't find the back of the net.

For Barcelona, attention now turns to the remaining league matches and their semi-final in the Copa de la Reina. While Chelsea have a fifth round FA Cup clash with Everton on Friday to finish off their season.
