The Australian Schoolboys won the First Test of the Trans Tasman Trophy Series on Wednesday night at English Park in Christchurch. A lone goal from captain Chris Camilleri decided the game.   Both teams played for a result which gave the crowd plenty of entertainment. New Zealand pressed and Australia relied on quality ball play and in some cases long-ball. With the highly partisan home crowd, the New Zealand Schoolboys pushed hard and generated a few chances.   The Australians were nervous at first, but settled in to create opportunities to open the scoring. The goal came early in the second period when a cross from Daniel Wilkinson was met by Camilleri and his looping header was just out of the reach for the New Zealand goalkeeper.   Australian coach John Romeo was not happy with the performance, but pleased about the result. "When a team can play not up to par and still get a result, one must be happy".   The Australians will have Thursday off as a rest and recovery day which will include some sightseeing. The Second Test will be played on Friday afternoon with a 1.00pm kickoff.
