Canberra United v Melbourne City: match preview

Canberra United made a brilliant start to the 2019/20 Season but will get a good test of their credentials against Melbourne City on Sunday in the final game of Round 2.

The team from the nation’s capital may have unearthed a new Westfield W-League star in Simone Charley, who scored the goals in their opening round 2-0 win over Perth Glory.

City’s star-studded squad were held to a 1-1 draw by Newcastle Jets in their first outing, but it is sure to take a little time for Rado Vidosic’s side to gel.

The match will also see Westfield Matildas defender Ellie Carpenter return to her former club Canberra United since her off-season move to City.
