Caltex Socceroos' defender Milos Degenek made his debut for new club Red Star Belgrade as the Serbian giants progressed in their UEFA Champions League qualifier on Wednesday morning (AEST).
The 24-year-old joined the Serbian champions from Yokohama F. Marinos earlier in July and played the full 90 minutes against Latvian outfit FK Spartaks Jūrmala.
After a 0-0 stalemate in Latvia last week, Red Star claimed a 2-0 win over their opponents with Degenek putting in a solid performance at the back.
Two late goals from El Fardou Ben Mohamed and Nenad Krsticic secured the 2-0 aggregate victory, which moves the club into the second qualifying round.
They'll face Lithuanian champions FK Suduva on Wednesday 27 July, with kick off at 4:30am (AEST).
