Qantas Socceroos and New York Red Bulls star Tim Cahill jetted into England to witness David Moyes's last game in charge at Goodison Park in person.

Cahill, along with Mikel Arteta rates as Moyes's most important signing at the Toffees, hopped a plane just 15 hours after a 1-1 draw for the Red Bulls to join his former gaffer's farewell party.

The visit also presented Everton fans with another chance to officially say goodbye to club icon Cahill, who scored 68 goals in 278 appearances over eight seasons before moving to the US last year.

Cahill was given a guard of honour by the Everton team as he and outgoing skipper Phil Neville joined Moyes on the pitch after a 2-0 win over West Ham.

The Australian embraced Moyes, who signed him from Millwall for what turned out to be a bargain price of 1.5 million pounds ($A2.3 million) in 2004.

"What an emotional goodbye. To be included in the guard of honour by the team, with Phil Neville and David Moyes, is something I'll never forget. Thank you," Cahill tweeted.
