Bielsa names Leeds squad for Australia tour

Leeds United head coach Marcelo Bielsa has named a 16-player squad for the Whites’ Australian tour.

The English Championship side will renew an old rivalry with Manchester United in Perth on Wednesday 17 July before travelling East to face Hyundai A-League outfit Western Sydney Wanderers on Saturday 20 July.

Ex-Real Madrid goalkeeper Kiko Casilla, 2018/19 top goalscorer Kemar Roofe, former Premier League striker Patrick Bamford and Spanish playmaker Pablo Hernandez are among the players named.

Leeds opened their pre-season campaign with a 5-0 win at York City on Thursday AEST with Jack Harrison scoring twice and Roofe, Hernandez and Adam Forshaw also on the score sheet.

The Yorkshire side were beaten Championship playoff semi-finalists last season and will aim to launch another Premier League promotion bid by ramping up their fitness levels Down Under.
