Baccus targeting Hyundai A-League silverware after City confirm permanent deal

Kearyn Baccus has signed a three-and-a-half-year deal at Melbourne City that will see him remain at the club until the end of the Hyundai A-League 2021/22 campaign.

Baccus, 27, joined City in October on a short-term injury deal but has since become a critical midfield cog for Warren Joyce's side, starting in all eleven Hyundai A-League matches.

Speaking to Melbourne City's official website, Baccus revealed his joy at finally confirming a stay in Victoria, and announced his intentions to compete for Hyundai A-League silverware.

“It's been a big couple of months with the club and now I’m just glad I can officially call Melbourne City home," he said.

"I’ve wanted to come for a while now and I’m happy to be here now.

“I want to win something and I think with the team that we have that that’s achievable this year, with the coach especially, anything is possible.

"Hopefully we can win some silverware and be there or thereabouts challenging for the title."

City also confirmed that they have reached a mutual agreement with Michael O'Halloran to terminate the forward's contract.

O'Halloran joined the club at the start of the campaign and made three appearances in all competitions, but returns to native Scotland for compassionate reasons.
