Avondale book a spot in Round of 32

Avondale FC have booked their spot on the national stage after sealing a place in the FFA Cup 2018 Round of 32.

The scoreline read 4-1 in Avondale's favour, but it was not a fair reflection after Richmond's efforts in the first half.

The Victorian third-tier club created a host of chances in the opening stages, but it was Avondale who struck first.

Liam Boland converted from the penalty spot past Nikola Roganovic after Richmond were penalised for a handball in the box.

And just a few minutes later Avondale had a second, with Yitay Towns looping one home from close range.

The NPL Victoria side added a third shortly before the half-time break after Stefan Zinni finished off a brilliant team move.

It was always going to be a mountain to climb for Richmond in the second half, and it was game over when Elvis Kamsoba made it 4-0 with 20 minutes left to play.

Richmond did pull one back in the 79th minute, but Avondale prevented any further damage.

The Round of 32 draw will be conducted LIVE on FOX SPORTS on Tuesday, June 26.
