Northern NSW

There are just four sides left standing in the NNSW Northern Zone following the weekend’s Preliminary Round 4 action.

Coffs Coast Tigers, Coffs City United, Oxley Vale Attunga and Port Saints all advanced to Round 5 with weekend wins in Northern NSW.

Coffs Coast Tigers prevailed over league rivals Bellingen 3-1 in the opening match of the weekend at the Coffs Football Centre.

Coffs City United defeated Iona 9-0 while Oxley Vale Attunga also came away with a big win, running out 7-0 victors over Boambee.

In the weekend’s final match Port Saints defeated Moore Creek 1-0 in Tamworth.

The Northern NSW Northern Zone Round 5 draw will be conducted at 2pm on Monday afternoon with fixtures set to be played this weekend.

Tasmania

Australia Cup action got underway in Tasmania over the weekend with three Preliminary Round 3 matches being played.

Taroona grabbed a 2-0 away win over Metro FC in the opening match at North Chigwell on Friday night.

In Saturday’s action Launceston United defeated Nelson 4-1 and Northern Rangers ran out 4-0 winners over University SC.

Hobart United take on South East United in the final Round 3 match-up on Wednesday night.

Victoria

Brimbank Stallions defeated Sandringham 3-1 in the only Australia Cup match played in Victoria over the weekend.

The Stallions scored three goals in the final 10 minutes to seal their progression in the match which restarted from the 30th minute with Sandringham leading 1-0 after being abandoned because of a serious injury a week earlier.

Brimbank will now face NPL Victoria outfit Eastern Lions in Preliminary Round 4.

New South Wales

Preliminary Round 2 action continued with 23 matches played across the state in NSW over the weekend.

Macquarie Dragons grabbed the biggest win of the weekend defeating Albion Park City Eagles 12-1 at Christie Park Field on Sunday.

Preliminary Round 2 action continues in NSW tonight with Lindfield FC taking on ACU FC at Charles Bean Sports Ground.
