While the world-s eyes have been firmly focused on Gareth Bale-s move to Real Madrid and Arsenal finally making a move in the transfer market by securing Mesut Ozil, there have also been a couple of Aussies on the move in Europe.

In what has been a hectic deadline day, Tottenham-s Massimo Luongo has returned to Swindon on a season-long loan while Nikita Rukavytsya also made a loan move to FSV Frankfurt.

Luongo played fifteen games for League One side Swindon last season when he went out on a two-month loan from his London club and obviously impressed the club enough for them to welcome him back this season.

The 20-year-old midfielder joined Tottenham in early 2011 with his one senior appearance for the club coming in the League Cup later that year.

Swindon have so far had mixed results in the third tier of English football as they sit 10th after the first five matches of the 2013-14 season.

Fellow Aussie and fringe Socceroos representative Rukavytsya was loaned from Bundesliga club Mainz 05 to Bundesliga 2 club FSV Frankfurt for the 2013-14 season.

Having played over 40 matches for the Perth Glory, Rukavytsya played in Holland (FC Twente) and Belgium (Roeselare) before landing in Germany with Hertha BSC.

The move will hopefully see the 26-year-old winger get more game time at the 9th placed club, after not seeing much time on the pitch for Mainz.

Earlier in the transfer window Young Socceroo U-20 World Cup representative Jackson Irvine also moved on loan from Scottish giants Celtic to fellow Scottish Premiership side Kilmarnock.

Looking to see more playing time at his new home the 20-year-old has so far started in each of his side-s three league fixtures since his arrival.
