Mathew Ryan conceded two as Brighton and Hove Albion rescued a 2-2 draw with Fulham in Sunday’s Premier League encounter, while Mitch Langerak played a full game in goals as Nagoya Grampus moved one step closer to securing their J-League status with a huge 6-1 win over Jubilo Iwata.

Danny Vukovic was involved in a crazy game in Belgium, with his Genk side drawing 3-3 at Kortrijk on Monday. All six goals came in the second half, with Genk needing Leandro Trossard’s 85th-minute goal to take a point back home.

Last Friday, Brad Jones’ Al Nassr got their Saudi Pro League season off to a great start, beating Ohod 2-1 with Jones in goal.

Defenders

Caltex Socceroos skipper Mile Jedinak endured a tough outing for Aston Villa on Sunday, losing 4-1 to Sheffield United. Also in the Championship, Bailey Wright’s Bristol City defeated Blackburn 4-1, although the defender did not feature.

There were better fortunes for Trent Sainsbury, who made his first appearance in PSV colours off the bench in the side’s 6-1 demolition of Willem II on Sunday. Aziz Behich didn’t make the team sheet.

Ben Garrucio’s Heart of Midlothian rolled St Mirren 4-1 at home on Sunday to preserve their early lead of the Scottish Premiership, while Aussie Mark Milligan wasn’t on the team sheet as Hibernian went down 2-1 to Livingston.

Fresh from his UEFA Champions League heroics, Milos Degenek enjoyed a 4-1 win as Red Star Belgrade beat Vojvodina on Monday.

Aleksandar Susnjar played a full match with MSK Zilina in the Slovak Super Liga on Sunday, going down 1-0 to Slovan Bratislava.

Alex Gersbach was on the bench as Rosenborg beat KF Shkendija 2-0 in UEFA Europa League qualifying on Friday, and in the Saudi Pro League, Matt Jurman played 90 minutes in Al-Ittihad’s 1-0 defeat to Al Shabab.

Milos Degenek

Midfielders

Aaron Mooy’s Huddersfield got their second point of the season after earning a hard-fought draw at Everton in the Premier League on Sunday.

Massimo Luongo played a full match in QPR’s 0-0 draw with Birmingham, while Jackson Irvine didn’t make the team sheet in Hull’s 2-1 loss to Derby.

Kenneth Dougall’s fine start to life in Barnsley continued as the League One outfit claimed a 2-1 win over Gillingham.

Mustafa Amini got through a full game for AGF in Denmark, with his side held to a 1-1 draw with Vendsyssel.

Sunday’s old firm derby saw Tom Rogic steal the show for Celtic but there was no debut for Daniel Arzani as the Scottish champions beat Rangers 1-0.

Meanwhile on Monday, Ajdin Hrustic warmed up for the training camp in Turkey by playing another 90 minutes in Groningen’s 1-0 loss to PEC Zwolle.

Forwards

Apostolos Giannou clinched a brace as AEK Larnaca beat Trencin 3-0 to qualify for the UEFA Europa League group stage on Friday.

But it was late heartbreak for Mitchell Duke, who played 65 minutes as Shimizu S-Pulse side went down 2-1 to Velgata Sendai in Saturday’s J-League clash.

Jamie Maclaren played more than an hour for Hibernian but was unable to impact the score line as his side went down 2-1 to Livingston on Sunday, while Robbie Kruse picked up an assist as VfL Bochum side drew 2-2 with Paderborn in the 2. Bundesliga.

John Iredale didn’t feature for SC Heerenveen in the Eredivisie, while Denis Genreau played 45 minutes as PEC Zwolle beat Groningen 1-0.

Finally, Tomi Juric was absent from the squad as FC Luzern beat St. Gallen 1-0 in the Swiss Super League and Awer Mabil was an unused substitute for Midtjylland, who drew 2-2 with Brondby in a top-of-the-table clash.
