A late equaliser from Uche Ikpeazu robbed Caltex Socceroo Mark Milligan of Edinburgh-derby bragging rights as Sunday night's (AEST) Scottish Premiership fixture between Hibernian and Heart of Midlothian ended 1-1.
Hibernian striker Marc McNulty missed a penalty, but the dominance of Milligan’s side eventually told when Hearts captain Christophe Berra deflected a Daryl Horgan cross into his own net midway through the second half.
However, Ikpeazu squared things six minutes from time to ensure a share of the spoils between the city rivals.
The result leaves Hibs 10 league matches unbeaten – of which Milligan has played all but 20 minutes – and they remain firmly in the race for a UEFA Europa League position.
Milligan's Hibs side may have lost their clean sheet at the death, but Caltex Socceroos goalkeeper Mitch Langerak collected his fourth of the J-League season in Nagoya Grampus’ 1-0 win over Sanfrecce Hiroshima on Sunday afternoon.
Langerak was forced to make several fine second-half interventions to keep Sanfrecce at bay following Naoki Maeda’s 38th-minute opener – including a superb acrobatic parry from Yoshifumi Kashiwa’s header.
His heroics allowed Nagoya to leapfrog Sanfrecce into second place on the J-League ladder.
Meanwhile, Mustafa Amini was not involved as AGF beat AC Horsens 3-1 in their Danish Superliga playoff clash.
It is the first time AGF have registered five consecutive wins in the history of the Danish Superliga, and the result keeps the club’s UEFA Europa League playoff tilt alive.
