Caltex Socceroos Awer Mabil and Mustafa Amini locked horns in the Danish Superliga overnight as FC Midtjylland beat AGF 2-1.
The two Denmark-based Australians have been mainstays for both their sides this season, but it was Mabil and Midtjylland who came out on top in a fiery occasion which saw three red cards.
And Mabil played a starring role in helping Midtjylland retain their title challenge, providing a neat crossed assist for Paul Onuachu's match-winning strike.
That was the attacker's 11th assist in all competitions for the Danish heavyweights.
Mabil’s side are now level on points with first-placed Copenhagen with three rounds remaining, however the league leaders crucially have a game in hand on the Wolves.
Copenhagen entertain Vendsyssel FF at home tomorrow 5.00am (AEDT).

PSV Eindhoven’s four-point lead at the Eredivisie summit has been halved as Trent Sainsbury and Aziz Behich’s side drew 1-1 with 10-man Feyernoord this morning.
Sainsbury and Behich were unused substitutes for Mark van Bommel’s side.
It’s a third consecutive league draw for PSV, who have second-placed Ajax breathing down their necks.
Elsewhere, Apostolos Giannou’s AEK Larnaca cruised to a 3-0 victory over Paralimni in the Cypriot First Division but the Australian front man was not involved in the match day squad.
