Aussies Abroad | Kruse stars in Germany

We wrap up all the action from around Europe and Asia as a stack of Aussies take to the pitch in the world's top leagues.

Robbie Kruse has starred for German Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen as the Socceroo scored twice to help his side to a 4-1 away victory at FSV Mainz.

Kruse put in a man of the match performance as he scored the opener with 19 minutes gone, set up the second goal before having a brace by half-time. He came off after 75 minutes while his side remained in second place.

Millwall-s Scott McDonald scored the lone goal in his Championship side-s 1-0 victory over Charlton Athletic at The Valley.

McDonald scored on the half hour mark as his deflected shot beat Charlton keeper Ben Hamer to extend Millwall-s streak of not being beaten by Charlton to 17 years.

Socceroo and fellow Championship player Rhys Williams didn-t taste such success as he conceded a penalty on four minutes before being sent off late in Middlesborough-s 3-3 home draw with Bournemouth.

Williams was shown a straight red for a professional foul after Bournemouth-s Wes Thomas was brought down as he broke through on goal. Middleborough remained in 16th place, one spot ahead of McDonald-s Millwall on the Championship ladder.

Luke Wilkshire played the full complement for his Russian team Dinamo Moscow but could not help his side succumbing to a 3-1 home defeat against Lokomotiv Moscow as they slid down to 7th position.

Jason Davidson-s Heralces could not match FC Twente in the Dutch Eredivisie as they were knocked off 3-0 while in Switzerland former Central Coast Mariner Oliver Bozanic helped FC Luzern to a 1-0 away win over BSC Young Boys as they moved up to 2nd.

In Austria James Holland was in action for Austria Wien as they beat Sturm Graz 2-1 to move to third.

In Scottish Premiership action Young Socceroos representative Jackson Irvine got a full match for Kilmarnock as they drew 1-1 away to Partick Thistle while Dylan McGowan played in Hearts 2-1 defeat to Ross County. Tom Rogic was an unused substitute for competition heavyweights Celtic.

Turning to Asia and Socceroos stalwart Lucas Neill couldn-t help his J-League side Omiya Ardija from a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Vegalta Sendai while Josh Kennedy played a full match in Nagoya Grampus-s 2-0 loss to FC Tokyo.

Alex Wilkinson helped his side Jeonbuk FC to a 1-0 away win at Busan I-Park in the K-League.

Two Aussies came face to face in the UAE-s Arabian Gulf League as Brett Holman-s Al Nasr spoilt former Melbourne Victory player Billy Celeski-s debut for Al Sha-ab as Holman-s side won 2-1.

Tim Cahill and David Carney's New York Red Bulls take on FC Dallas in the MLS tomorrow morning at 7am (AEST).
