Caltex Socceroos star Aaron Mooy helped Huddersfield record their first victory of the English Premier League season on Tuesday morning, beating fellow strugglers Fulham 1-0 at the John Smith's Stadium.
The Terriers came out on top in the early-season relegation six-pointer to climb off the foot of the table at their visitors' expense thanks to Timothy Fosu-Mensah's 29th-minute own goal.
The unfortunate effort ended a 658-minute wait for a goal for David Wagner's men, who were the last side in the top four tiers of English football to register a win.
Mooy almost settled the hosts' nerves when he fired just over in the second half, while he also made two key passes for his side's misfiring frontline.
However, it was his vital work in retaining possession and disrupting the Cottagers which made the three points safe.
The 28-year-old had the highest possession percentage for the Terriers (5%) and completed the most passes for his side, with 36 from 49 attempts, while he also made the second most tackles with four to his name.
Mooy's side are now only in the relegation places courtesy of an inferior goal difference to Newcastle and will look to pull out of the bottom three when they host West Ham at 2am (AEDT) on Sunday morning.
