Aston Villa went down 2-0 to Fulham at Craven Cottage, but Chris Herd started the match for Villa, before being replaced in the 81st minute.

Crystal Palace has produced back-to-back wins under their new coach, Tony Pulis. Their captain, Socceroo Mile Jedinak, played another 90 minutes as they beat Cardiff City 2-0.

The win comes as Jedinak signed an extension to his deal at Selhurst Park, which ties him to the club until June 2017. Palace remains in the bottom three, but only on goal difference.

In the Championship, Rhys Williams played a full match for Middlesbrough as they drew 2-2 with Birmingham City. Goalkeepers Mark Schwarzer and Brad Jones were unused substitutes in the Premier League, for English giants Chelsea and Liverpool respectively.

Elsewhere, James Holland played the full match as his Austria Wien side drew 2-2 at home to Admira.

Mathew Ryan-s hugely promising start to his European career continued as he kept a clean sheet in Club Brugge-s 3-0 win over KV Mechelen.

In Germany, Mathew Leckie played a full game for FSV Frankfurt as they went down 2-0 to FC Köln. Also in Germany, Borussia Dortmund went down 1-0 to Bayer Leverkusen. Goalkeeper Mitch Langerak was on the bench for Dortmund, whilst Robbie Kruse came on for Bayer Leverkusen, as a late substitute.

Luke Wilkshire started for Dinamo Moscow as they beat Amkar Perm 2-0. The defender played 80 minutes before being replaced, whilst in Switzerland, Dario Vidosic played 74 minutes for FC Sion, as they went down 2-0 away at St. Gallen.
