Around the Grounds: Krishna settles his future, Roar flyer heading to Denmark, fierce rival helps Wanderers land new recruit

Former Wellington Phoenix star Roy Krishna has found a new home and will play in the Indian Super League next season.

Krishna, who took out the Johnny Warren Medal as the Hyundai A-League’s best player in 2018/19, has inked a one-year deal with Kolkata-based club ATK.

"It was not just about me, it was about my family. My wife, [Naziah Ali], is coming with me. She's more familiar with the Indian culture and that was also one of the reasons why I chose to go there,” Krishna said in stuff.co.nz.

“Obviously my forefathers came from there 140 years ago so I'm going back after 140 years. I'm excited, I'm happy and I know I've made the right decision.”

Krishna’s deal is reportedly one of the most lucrative in ATK’s history.

Teenage attack Zach Duncan is set to become teammates with Caltex Socceroos midfielder Mustafa Amini at Danish club AGF Aarhus.

The ex-Brisbane Roar flyer has signed a four-year after impressing AGF staff in a trial earlier this year.

Duncan, who made four Hyundai A-League appearances and scored one goal in the latter part of the 2018/19 Season, told Roar officials at the end of the season he wanted to explore opportunities overseas.

“We have picked up Zach with the future in mind. He is a skilled and dynamic player with a good technique,” sports director Peter Christiansen told the AGF website.

“He is a humble player who wants to work for the team.

“Now he must be allowed to get to know the club well. Then we have great hopes that Zach will grow as a player in the coming years.”

Duncan will wear the number 20 jersey at AGF.
