Jay O'Shea travelled to the other side of the globe to be a part of Robbie Fowler's revolution at Brisbane Roar, but the life-changing transition has passed with minimum fuss.
O'Shea, 30, arrives in the Hyundai A-League after a standout season for Bury in the English Football League Two.
The former Irish U23 international scored 15 times for The Shakers, helping the club win promotion to League One, and earning two player of the month awards and a spot in the League Two Team of the Year along the way.
“Coming to the other side of the world, it’s going to be difficult if you don’t know anyone but I knew a few of the lads and all the Australian boys have welcomed me in straight away,” O’Shea told Brisbane Roar's official website.

“It’s [training has] been tough. I had a bit of jet lag and been trying to get used to the sleeping patterns but the training has been brilliant.
“All the lads are working really hard and the staff are trying to establish a style of play already and letting us know early on how we want to play. It’s been a great couple of weeks, I feel like I’ve settled in already.”
Roar fans can get a glimpse of the exciting O'Shea - who played one Premier League appearance for Birmingham City in 2009/10 - when Brisbane face NPL QLD outfit Redlands United in Saturday afternoon's friendly match.
Reddy's class act
Liam Reddy didn't give strikers in the competition anything to work with last season, but the Perth Glory 'keeper was in a more charitable mood in Tuesday night's pre-season friendly against Bayswater City.
The Hyundai A-League veteran, who turns 38 next month, is getting better with age and enjoyed one of his best campaigns in between the sticks to date during Perth's Premiership-winning 2018/19 campaign.
And in a match that saw Bruno Fornaroli make his club debut for the WA side, Reddy showed his class by giving a young fan and her friend his gloves after Glory's pre-match warm up.
