Ange’s game plan will reap goals, vows Troisi

James Troisi is absolutely adamant there’ll be no change whatsoever in the Ange Postecoglou game plan for Tuesday night’s Thailand clash.

Group B table

Fresh from a 2-0 loss to Japan on Thursday night, the Australians must win next Tuesday night – and ideally by an avalanche of goals – to put the pressure back on Saudi Arabia who face Japan a few hours after the clash in Melbourne.

But questions about the Ange game plan were swiftly dispatched by the Victory player.

GAME PLAN WORKS

“I think everyone knows the boss by now. Nothing’s going to change.

“It works [the game plan and new 3-4-3 formation]. It’s shown it works,” Troisi told reporters at a Tag Heuer store event shortly after landing in Melbourne.

“Obviously against different opposition it’s a little more difficult. And on Thursday night it was quite difficult and all credit to the Japanese.”

TRICKY SITUATION

“We’re in a little tricky situation,” the attacking midfielder conceded.

“The last couple of days have been a little bit tough. But we know what we have to do and to get done.

Caltex Socceroos players celebrate the equaliser.

“I guess it’s a bit of a do-or-die situation.

“Not that we don’t have anything to lose, but we have everything to gain.

“And on Tuesday night we have no choice but to be on fire."

HOME COMFORTS

Troisi conceded playing at his home stadium and in adopted home city was something he was relishing. And that's not all.

“And we’ll have a lot of support. There’s been a lot of negativity but we’re pretty strong and all been through a lot things before and we’ll come together.

“I’m sure we’ll try put on a performance.”
