AGF Aarhus' Australian trio - Mustafa Amini, Alex Gersbach and Zach Duncan - will have an opportunity to play in front of the world's first virtual grandstand next week, with the Danish Superliga club announcing a collaboration with digital video platform Zoom.
When the league resumes at the end of May - as will be common in leagues around the world - games will be played behind closed doors.
And as a way to keep fans connected and still a part of the experience, Aarhus will set up 22 different sections around the stadium that supporters can get tickets to, and connect via Zoom to support the team directly from their living rooms.
"It will be the first tournament match in a long time. We are celebrating that with a historic digital initiative, and we are proud to be the first club in the world to use it," said AGF Aarhus CEO Jacob Nielsen.
"Now it seems that we have to do without spectators for a while, so maybe we can inspire a similar initiative at other clubs that can also benefit from it in the coming time."
