From increased coverage to greater technology and state-of-the-art new stadiums, Australia’s top-flight has changed dramatically over the last 14 years. And that includes the match ball.

The early days of the competition saw the use of the Nike T90 ball, which was synonymous with the circular design one of its main features.

As the competition and technology evolved, so to did the ball, with the Nike T90 Omni (2008/09) eventually brought in, which was said to be the most spherical ball yet.

Over the last decade, there has been a range of different features of the Nike ball used in the Hyundai A-League, from the Nike Maxim (2012/13) - which allowed for a 'more accurate and powerful strike' - to the Nike Ordem 3 (2015/16)  which was a multi-paneled design which was a huge statement ball at the time.

The upcoming season will see players use the new Nike Strike Official Merlin ball.

But we’re looking back at the balls used over the first 14 seasons of the competition…and you can tell us your favourite in the poll at the bottom of the page.
